As spring camp heats up, the Tigers are gearing up for the start of Grapefruit League play this weekend. The action begins on Saturday at 1:05 p.m.

ET, with the Tigers hitting the road to face the Yankees. Following that, they’ll host the Orioles and Twins on Sunday and Monday, both games also kicking off at 1:05 p.m.

ET.

The pitching lineup for these initial games is shaping up to be quite intriguing. Keider Montero is set to take the mound against the Yankees.

On Sunday, Jack Flaherty, along with minor league lefty Bryan Sammons, will face the Orioles. Monday will see Tarik Skubal making his spring debut against the Twins, with new acquisition Drew Anderson also scheduled to pitch.

Of course, these plans might shift as things progress.

Fans can catch Saturday’s game on Tigers TV, while Sunday and Monday’s games will be available on the radio, with Dan Dickerson providing the play-by-play.

In other camp news, Justin Verlander was back in Lakeland, working on his craft after a brief absence due to personal reasons. He spent some time with Dillon Dingler, discussing catching setups and how he prefers his targets. They also delved into strategies for pitching to hitters on both sides of the plate.

Adding to the excitement, during a live BP session, Josue Briceño, a promising 21-year-old prospect, took Tarik Skubal deep. It’s always thrilling to see such talent on display, especially when a top 100 ranked slugger makes a statement against one of the best left-handers in the game. This moment certainly adds a bright note to the Tigers’ spring training narrative.
