The 73-year-old actor could be evicted from his three-bedroom home because of nearly $60,000 in unpaid rent. Court documents show he received a three-day notice in mid-December telling him to pay or leave his Los Angeles home. He “ended up failing to comply.”

Additionally, recent pictures show the Academy Award nominee looking haggard. The long hair he once sported has almost disappeared.

But Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend of the actor and a member of his management team, has found a way to help Rourke. We have the details below.

Mickey Rourke Has a GoFundMe Page

Yesterday, Jan. 4, Jones set up a GoFundMe page to support Rourke.

“At the height of his success, he stepped away from Hollywood in search of truth and authenticity, choosing risk over comfort,” the page reads. “Boxing—real and punishing—left lasting physical and emotional scars, and the industry that once celebrated him moved on quickly.

“Fame does not protect against hardship, and talent does not guarantee stability. What remains is a person who deserves dignity, housing, and the chance to regain his footing.”

At this time, the campaign has raised over $60,000 of its $100,000 goal.

What Happened to Rourke?

According to BillboardRourke signed a lease for the three-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot home in March for $5,200 a month. The rent was later increased to $7,000. The landlord now seeks back rent, attorney fees, and the forfeiture of the rental agreement.

The home was rented before the actor began legal action against the reality show Celebrity Big Brother UK regarding a pay dispute, which occurred after he had moved in.

While on the show, Rourke allegedly “made several offensive comments about JoJo Siwa” and “used inappropriate language.” He reportedly got a warning from the show and “ultimately” left the reality series.

His manager, Kimberly Hines, said the show disrespected the actor and did not compensate him as agreed.

“There’s no question that when ‘Big Brother’ booked Mickey Rourke, they were fully aware of both his public persona and how it aligned with his Hollywood rebel image,” Hines said. She added producers knew his presence would be “explosive, controversial and attention-grabbing — and that’s exactly what they got, and more.”
