Post Malone, who stepped onto the country music scene with his album F-1 Trillion in 2024, has been hinting at the possibility of releasing new music.
Back in April, the “Better Now” singer revealed that he was already back in the studio, collaborating with the likes of Thomas Rhett, Ernest, and HARDY. “We just have fun,” he admitted. “We just sit and f—ing talk and make songs. And so I’m pretty excited for the new record already.”
Now, Posty may not only be delivering us one album, but there’s a possibility he may be releasing two projects in the upcoming year. During a Twitch livestream this week, Malone revealed that this is super likely, as long as “everything goes his way.”
“Chances are, chat,” he told streamers, “We are getting two albums in 2026. If everything goes my way.”
The question is, though, does this mean Malone plans to veer back to his pop roots? Selfishly, as someone who’s been a fan of his music since Beerbongs & Bentleys, I’m hoping we get at least one album with some of that old Posty we know and love. But I’m a fan of F-1 Trillion, too, so regardless of what he decides on, I really won’t have room to complain.
Going Country Has Been Post Malone’s Plan All Along
While Post Malone has achieved significant success in country music so far, many fans resonate with wanting him to return to his old sound. However, in a 2025 interview with Billboard, Malone reminded his supporters that, since the beginning, really, this has been his plan all along. He talked about his headspace during the Austin era, which was right before he made the full switch into country music.
“We just slowed everything down, and that’s kind of what I was going through at that point. And [the country project] was just f—ing bitching. It was so fun to make. I said in an interview a while ago, ‘When I’m 30 years old, I’m gonna make a country record.’ And I made it at 29, so I wasn’t too far off.”
It’s true, when he was just 19, after receiving success from the release of his song “White Iverson”, Malone posted a tweet that read, “WHEN I TURN 30 IM BECOMING A COUNTRY/FOLK SINGER.” Now, the tweet is receiving renewed attention ten years later.
Say what you want about country Posty, but the man sticks to his guns. Let’s just hope he means it when he says he wants to give us twice as much music this year.
