A bizarre video from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York has taken the Internet by storm, showing a woman confidently presenting a passport from “Torenza” — a nation that does not exist on any map or official record anywhere on Earth. 🌍

The clip, which has gone viral on TikTok and Instagram with millions of views, shows the traveler — said to be arriving from Tokyo — calmly explaining that Torenza is located in the Caucasus region during an airport interview that left staff completely stunned.

“Authorities at JFK were shocked when a woman from Tokyo presented a passport issued by a country called Torenza. According to every known record, map, and database, such a nation simply does not exist,” one commentator wrote.

The mysterious footage has ignited a storm of speculation — from AI deepfake hoaxes to theories about parallel universes — amid growing concern about AI-generated misinformation spreading online.

“The viral story of the ‘Torenza Passport Woman’ landing at JFK is raising serious concerns about fake AI-generated news,” one X (formerly Twitter) user posted alongside the viral video.

However, the truth has since been uncovered. The entire video was created by AI. According to Grok, the Elon Musk–backed fact-checking system, the story is completely fabricated:

“This viral clip about a woman at JFK with a ‘Torenza’ passport appears to be a hoax inspired by the old urban legend ‘The Man from Taured.’ No credible news source or official airport statement supports this claim. It’s likely AI-generated misinformation circulating online,” Grok confirmed.

Flashback: The Mystery of “The Man from Taured” (Tokyo, 1954)

The “Torenza” case eerily mirrors a chilling incident from the summer of 1954 at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, when a well-dressed European man arrived on a flight from Europe carrying a passport from a country called “Taured.”

The man insisted Taured was a sovereign nation located between France and Spain — exactly where Andorra is today. His passport appeared legitimate, stamped with authentic-looking visas from multiple countries, including Japan.

Fluent in several languages, he claimed to be on a routine business trip. But customs officials were baffled — there was no record of any such country.

Authorities detained him overnight in a guarded hotel room while they investigated. Yet by morning, the mysterious traveler and all his belongings had vanished without a trace. The room was locked from the inside.

The case has since become one of the most enduring urban legends in paranormal lore — known simply as “The Man from Taured.”
